M‑10 Intracloud Lightning Detector
Unlike other portable lightning sensors that are essentially inexpensive AM radios, the M‑10 is designed to eliminate false alarms by requiring signals both from the invisible (in daylight) light pulses in the cloud as well as electric field change signals. Lightning emits both kinds of signals simultaneously, noise sources do not.
